The best self-help books for twenty-somethings that are going to change your life

The importance of taking care of our mental and physical health has never been so significant before. The goal of improving both our physical and mental health is the same – we all want to become the best version of ourselves. There are a lot of books that claim to help you be more, do more, or be less, do less. Now, the question is, how do you know which are the right self-help books for your 20s?

That’s relatively easy. I’ve put together a list of 20 of my favorite must-read books for personal growth and development. I’m sure you’ll find a few books here that you’ll enjoy and that will change your life for the better.

I suggest you borrow these books from the library (to save more money, remember?), and if you really like some books, you can buy them later to keep going over your favorite parts.

Besides, if you buy a book, you can make notes in that book, which is something you should not do with a borrowed book.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the best self-help books for millennials that I’ve personally read myself as well.

This book has sold over 40 million copies and is a New York Times best-seller. It is widely regarded as the most influential business book of the twentieth century.

The author, Stephen R. Covey, offers a systematic and principle-centered approach to addressing personal and professional issues in his book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.

This is another New York Times bestseller with over 2 million copies sold. Glennon Doyle is a memoirist who embarks on a journey to liberate herself and become a truer version of herself.

The book “Untamed” begins with her being “caged” by the world’s demands that tell people (especially women) how to behave. This is something we have all encountered at some point in our lives.

Glennon made the decision to stop abandoning herself and start abandoning the world’s expectations of her. She gave up being good in order to be free.

She stopped pleasing other people and began living. Therefore, she became free. I really suggest you read that book if you want to find out how to become free, confident, and happy.

In this self-help book, a celebrity blogger shows how to stop trying to be positive all the time and become a better, happier person. For decades, we’ve been told that positive thinking is the key to living a happy and prosperous life. Manson advises us to recognize and accept our own limitations.

The book “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” helps us to find the courage, honesty, responsibility, curiosity, and forgiveness we seek once we embrace our flaws, fears, and uncertainties, once we stop running and avoiding and start confronting painful truths.

Manson emphasizes that there are only so many things we can care about, so we must determine which ones truly matter.

Money might be nice, but caring about what you do with your life is better because true wealth is about the experience, not money. This book is in my top 3 self-help books for women in their 20s because it taught me how to let go of unimportant things and start caring about things that really matter.

In this book, Adam Grant investigates the critical art of rethinking: learning to question your OWN opinions and open up the minds of others, which can lead you to success at work and wisdom in life.

The book “Think Again” demonstrates that we don’t have to believe or internalize everything we think or feel. It’s an invitation to let go of beliefs that no longer serve us well and to value mental flexibility over stubborn consistency. Besides, if knowledge is power, then knowing what we don’t know is wisdom, right?

In this book, Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of power history into 48 essential laws, drawing on the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz, as well as the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum.

Some laws emphasize the importance of prudence, while others emphasize the importance of confidence, and many advocate absolute self-preservation. Every law, however, has one thing in common: a desire for total dominance. The book “48 Laws of Power” is ideal for conquest, self-defense, or simply understanding the rules of the game.
